Christmas in Passing

I am not sure what has happened to Christmas spirit, this holiday had everything except spirit. It seemed to me as though everyone was buying just buy(nothing new really), but this year it seemed as though no one really cared that that was what they were doing. And, I was one to do it as well, I knew that I had not spirit, yet I attempted to push through it.

And then the day after Christmas, it was still really snowing in Denver and my father was out shoveling the driveway, I went out and helped. I helped with a neighbors driveway and then he did two more after that. He did not do it out guilt, or necessity, he just did it out of kindness. I talked with my mother about it later and she said that this year every week they would do something for a person in need (or not, depending), a bit of pay it forward.

Here I was looking for a grand gesture, when all I needed to do was look outside or inside and see that sometimes all it takes is a little gesture to impact a persons day, or week.
